Helicopter Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Popular Southern California Coast

A helicopter soaring over a crowded California beach abruptly commenced twirling uncontrollably, finally losing altitude and crashing into a line of palm groves as spectators observed.

Recordings shared on social media depict the helicopter starting to spin near the beach then descending near the perimeter of the coast, where it ends up lodged amidst palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.

First Aid Update

Emergency responders stated five people were taken to hospital including two individuals who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.

Three people on the street were injured. Information on their wounds were still under review.

The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
