Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.
Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25 stand indicted for homicide and will appear before Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, plus an additional six years on license, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a narcotics search warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
